What is a School Counseling Program?
A school counseling program is a comprehensive program that includes an emphasis on academic success for every student. The purpose of this program is to teach specific skills that will allow each student to achieve school success through academic, career, and personal/social development experiences. The school counselors design programs and services to meet the needs of students. These programs establish goals, expectations, support systems, and experiences for all students.
Glen Este Middle School Counseling Program Mission
The Glen Este Middle School Counseling Program will provide a comprehensive, developmental counseling program addressing the academic, career, and personal/social development of all students. School Counselors are professional school advocates who provide support to help remove academic and/or social barriers to student success. In partnership with other educators, parents or guardians, and the community, School Counselors will facilitate these support systems to ensure that all students have access to and are prepared with the knowledge and skills necessary to become productive members of this community.
