Some of Our Programs
Caught in the Act Program
Students are awarded a Trojan Token when they are "Caught in the Act" of being respectful, responsible and active. Those tickets can then be used to purchase items from the School Store located in the Counseling Office. The School Store will be open during lunch bells on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Student Ambassadors
The Student Ambassador Program provides newly enrolled students with an ambassador that becomes the window into the world of Glen Este Middle School. The ambassador becomes the familiar face that can help the student make a more comfortable transition and reduce the stress of starting at a new school. Student Ambassadors also do their part to help others by leading the Recycling Program and fundraising to help those in need.
The Olweus Bullying Prevention Program
Mix It Up at Lunch Day
Mix it Up at Lunch Day is a national event working to teach tolerance and allow students to experience diversity in a safe environment. The national Mix it Up at Lunch day is Tuesday, October 28, 2014. According to the organization who sponsors Mix it Up, the Southern Poverty Law Center, they explain it as, “It’s a simple call to action: take a new seat in the cafeteria. By taking a risk, this one day, students can cross the lines of division in a safe, controlled environment, meet new people, and help build an inclusive and welcoming school community.”
Career Education
8th Grade students take a field trip to Live Oaks and use the Ohio Means Jobs website to explore career options, plan for the future, research funding for college and finding jobs.
We also provide various groups for students as needed. These can include anger management, social skills, or divorce/separation groups.
